Global Wealth Disparities
I've had a discussion with someone about the state of the global economic affairs and had to pull some data illustrating why the young people are getting increasingly disengaged, frustrated, and quiet quitting from the traditional work patterns and business models. It's not that they don't want to work, it's rather that they've cracked the code: No matter how hard you work and how dedicated you are, your life situation will be improving only incrementally, if at all, when you hold a traditional job.

The Diva's Diary - 1
***** Day 1 (June 6, 2026) OMG, it’s, like, soooo boring in this bunker! Don’t get me wrong, it has, like, everything I need (for now). But what am I gonna do if I, like, run out of my emergency stash of products or outfits? That’s, like, a total nightmare!

Egg-Stuffed Baked Tomato
One of my favorite things to make when fresh vegetables are getting cheaper in season is my good eggplant spread. It’s relatively easy to make and incredibly versatile: you can eat it on a toast, a bruschetta, use it as a dip with your favorite crackers or as a vegetable side for dinner.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Top Story - June 2024.
I've audited a night course in Horror and Scifi Film from a colleague who is a great expert in both genres and who selected interesting movies for the class to watch, representative of a particular sub-genre or cultural trend of the time. I enjoyed the course tremendously, watched the films I never saw before and had a chance to participate in insightful discussions with eager and engaged students.

Becoming Known
If you ever watch The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, you may have seen the segment where he uses a "highly scientific questionnaire" of 15 life-defining questions to interview his guest celebrities and make them "known" to the world. Those interviews are always fun and I often give my own answers along with the celebrities. Some of them are quite witty and somewhat educational, I think, so I've decided to write them down.

A Birthday Trip to Remember
My earliest childhood memory is from when I just turned 3. It’s patchy and vague, but I remember it because it was such a unique and memorable event: my father took me on a train ride from Bishkek (then Frunze) to Moscow. The Soviet Union was huge, so that trip took three days and three nights one way. I remember the rhythmic and calming sound of the train, which I love even now. I still prefer traveling by train over a plane or car.
