The Time Thief
Thirty years ago I would get up, wash , shave shower, make kids breakfast and packed lunches , make my own , then go off to work. After work I would sort out tea, watch TV , maybe practice for a gig , then go to bed. That was effectively pre internet. Yes there was a rudimentary email but nothing worth connecting up for. There were dial up modems but it was expensive and didn’t really give you much.

Vegan is Fine for Everyone
I was in the shower this morning (not an image you want in your head I know) and I read the side of my Lacura Shower Gel that I got from Aldi and it said "Suitable for Vegans and Vegetarians". Then I thought if something is suitable for Vegans then it is also suitable for Vegetarians.

A Tale At Bedtime
On Vocal we create stories, and I am sure my mum and dad would read me stories, but given that my mum had taught me to read before I was four, I found my bedtime stories in reading books. I have two daughters who have grown up to be independent and self confident. Again I read to them, but taught them to read and also had stories on cassette and CD for them, as well as music, to help them get to sleep.

Why Write?
After doing nothing and talking, writing is probably the easiest thing for a lot of people to do. Of course you need to be able to read and write and it is a relatively simple way to be creative. You only need a pen and paper and an idea, and you may want to write a book , a short story , a letter , record something that you want to remember, or keep a diary.

Immortals
Today one of the albums I played while working was “The North Star Grassman and The Ravens” by Sandy Denny who we lost when she fell in 1978 at the age of 31, less than half my age. And I was listening to this wonderful music more than forty years after she had left this plane. I have chosen her most beautiful song to lead this piece , but this is just one of many songs.

A Cautionary Covid-19 Tale
On the way back from town I had an idea for a short story, which may not be to everyone's taste but every story needs an idea, and this is just a straight draft , no editing , just coming out of my mind. Whether that is the best way to write or it is acceptable is up to you the reader.

REUSE not Recycle
The other day I got a knock on the door from someone selling something. I normally don’t bother as they seldom sell something that I want, but this guy was a milkman from McQueens Dairies who was offering deliveries in reusable glass bottles.

Playing for PRIDE
I always think that playlists are a little lazy, this is because of my age and I remember doing cassettes for friends and girlfriends to share the music that mattered and obviously these had to be put together in real time and could only really be shared with one person , or put on at a party. You could also do a tape for the car , so any passengers would be treated to your musical taste (or lack of).

Ship In A Bottle
This contains a true story. This is about how we should plan when we want to get something and hit a target or goal illustrated by something that I did as a kid. I thought I had written about this on my main blog SevenDaysIn but I could not find any trace of it when I searched, so this is the first time that I have possibly written about it, although my memory tells me otherwise.
