Difference in opinions
I wrote an article a while back on why we are so divided, whether its in politics, business, religion etc and some of the key points which explained where these differences came from were; information, experiences and intellectual ability amongst many others. Sometimes we don’t all have the same amount of information, and so we create our opinions based on the limited amount of information we have which means this opinion ends up being different from that of another person.

Getting disrespected lately
I don’t get disrespected a lot because I’m fortunate to be in a position where I don’t need to interact with a lot of people and I really don’t care about interacting with a lot of people. Its clear that the more you interact with people, the higher the chances of you being disrespected and so that’s why I don’t get that much of it in my life. Recently I got to work on a project with a young friend of mine and ended up facing alot (not that much) disrespect from him but I just chose to ignore it. I’ve already written a piece about disrespect and how to avoid it so I won’t go back to that but here I’ll just bring back some important points on how to avoid getting disrespected.

In the same way we are all a product of our environment, leaders are a direct reflection of the society that produces them. Even though this title might seem harsh, it is painfully true. Bad leaders do not sprout out of thin air, they are enabled, tolerated, promoted and sometimes celebrated by the very people who suffer under them. A future free from poverty
One day I asked a friend of mine to imagine what their life could be like if they didn’t have any problems, and they were a millionaire. He couldn’t imagine that, he didn’t even know where to start, for most if not all of his life things always went a predictable way filled with difficulties and hardships. To imagine what his life could be without difficulties was a nerve racking thought.

Why my life is not boring
For the past 4 or even 6 years since I graduated from university and started working, my life has been pretty much monotonous. You can summarize each of my days down to a few activities; going to work, going back home, sleeping. That has been my life now for over 5 years at least, of course there is the occasional party, but I can count those on one hand.

Desperate to help you
If you’ve spent any amount of time on the internet, you’ll have come across people either volunteering information or doing their best to help others in one way or the other even at a loss to themselves. You would discover something known as “open source” which basically means getting someone’s work for free, something they could charge for a fee is made available to the world completely free of charge, you could even just take it and commercialize it for yourself. The altruistic nature of humans is quite amazing and even people who don’t have a lot going for themselves still share this mindset, its amazing to say the least. Countless books written to educate people, countless philanthropes across the world donating all of their resources, countless persons sacrificing their lives to help others, countless selfless persons. I’ve also been in that position to a certain extent and today, I want to talk about my experience.

Humans can’t get along
I think when you look at all the wars, both past and current, it's pretty clear that us humans have a hard time getting along with each other. Despite all the progress which has been made towards peace, we still see so many conflicts going on across the world. We are of the same specie, yet it seems like we take so much pleasure in harming each other. We all share the same emotions, intelligence, desires, hopes and wishes, yet it seems like based on where you are born on the planet, you are a totally different person from someone born elsewhere. You won’t like anyone harming your loved ones, yet you are willing to harm those of others, you won’t want anyone taking from you, yet you are willing to take from everybody else.

Why Do People Choose to Suffer?
Suffering is often looked at as an inevitable part of life, we all expect to a certain degree to suffer at some point in our lives. While there are circumstances where this is inevitable, there are other circumstances where people seem to consciously or unconsciously choose to suffer. In this day an age where information has never been so prevalent, where it takes just a click to get to a YouTube video which will teach you how to become a millionaire or learn anything you could possibly want. It begs the question of why people are still suffering. I understand that a person who doesn’t have much education would go through a lot of troubles because of their limited knowledge and ability to learn. But it's something different when you have grown men and women who’ve been through university having the same struggles. In this article, I’ll explore some reasons why.

Eyes drained in blood
It would be difficult to illustrate this using any other example, so I’ll try to represent it in words. I saw politicians being caught in complete hypocrisy, where they said one thing and turned around and did the exact opposite. This wasn’t just something you could glance over or claim it was misconstrued, rather it was as simple as it gets. They clearly said they weren’t going to do something, and they turned around and did the same thing. Now they had to face the public, their faces filled with hypocrisy, shame, and guilt. They tried their best to deviate from the topic, but there was no way to. The most effective strategy in that case is to try to scapegoat somebody else to take the heat from themselves and onto another person. This sounds funny and a part of us all would like to gloat over this but unfortunately, in some cases, these are life and death decisions that determine the future of so many persons.

Why we won’t understand each other
In a meeting today, hearing the arguments between the participants, I came to a realization. I figured out a reason why it's difficult for us to understand each other, I’ll preface this by saying initially I thought most, if not all of the disagreements I observed came from either bad communication or antagonistic motives. However, listening to this meeting I realized something else which I believe is much more of a culprit than everything else and it explains why it will be impossible for us to understand each other. Sure, even though bad communication and ulterior motives do play a very significant role in our disagreements with each other, it turns out there is something much more potent that causes a lot of the disagreements we have with each other and that thing is our inability to process & store multiple sources of data at once.

Being understood or Being accepted
On the back of so many conflicts and misunderstandings with my peers, I always felt like the issue was miscommunication. I thought to myself that maybe I am not expressing myself in the right way, maybe my communication isn’t the best and so this person isn’t able to understand me. I tried my best to communicate my ideas with much more clarity every time, whether they were political views or my opinions on how I think things should be done in a project. Unfortunately, every attempt led to just more debate, and inevitably an argument ensued. With time I have come to understand that it isn’t a problem of miscommunication, the other person understands me and what I am saying but they prefer to be at odds with me.
