AI literacy is the only way to a successful AI-human collaboration and AI-assisted education
AI literacy is not a new concept. It emerged several years when I was writing for an Ed tech publication. Back then, the talks about AI in education were common with participation of academics, researchers, ed tech companies, and education technologists.

First recorded ancient cheesecake (includes recipes)
I love cakes. I love all sorts of cheesecakes, too, including ancient cheesecakes. When I learned about Cheesecake Day early this month, I experienced one of those happy moments that almost makes sense of everything else. All my worries and problems took a second place because now there was Cheesecake Day to brighten up my days. Thirty days of cheesecake. Thirty days of sweet thoughts. To celebrate Cheesecake Day on 30 July, I wrote a poem composed by two Senryūs, which you can read here below, in case you’ve missed it:

AI and the future of gaming
From prompt-to-game, now you can create a game your way, no coding. It sounds like a good thing, right? Perhaps it is. Generative AI technology can generate levels, characters, dialogues, and entire environments. In the context of gaming all these provide a dynamic and immersive experience for players.

Dracula and other vampire movies
‘Dracula and other vampire movies’ is my collection of vampire movies. These are movies I love to watch on Halloween or any time of the year. These are movies and watch again and again, without getting bored or tired of them, finding something new in them each time.

Meta AI is collecting your data
How much do you know about security and privacy on social media platforms? Let’s take Meta’s new Meta AI app as an example, which is one of the latest privacy disasters that affects anyone. Founded by Mark Zuckerberg who is also the company’s CEO, Meta is the former Facebook Company, best known for platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp, and for its work in the metaverse through Reality Labs.

Technology, society, and me
Chapter I When it all started This is not expected to be anything deep, profound, or anything like it. Since I usually write about technology news and try to add some sarcasm to make the reading a little bit lighter, today I decided to simply let my thoughts out in whatever order they choose and in any way they decide. I am writing this not as a draft but as my final unedited piece, because that’s how it’s intended to be. I will let this be a stream of consciousness and see where it leads me.

Tech news in a nutshell
It’s Friday again. I already got my media pass for this year’s Slush, and I am looking forward to it. If you missed it, I’ll link below. More news about that some other time. For now, here is your weekly sarcastically seasoned roundup of the top tech news from 21 to 27 June, 2025. Really, people, where are we going? From mass human layoffs to a bot being fired whilst another bot becomes the Coder in Chief of a company, I almost have no time to react fast enough to all what is happening. If I survive one more week, I’ll see you again next Friday. -Susan

Startups, investors, and the Northern magic of Slush
There are dozens of tech conferences every year. Some are glossy showcases. Others are networking marathons. But Slush, held in Helsinki every November, is something else entirely. It’s the only event I’ve attended for 17 consecutive years, and I can tell you, it never gets old; every year is different.

Lady bright
Alone, Lady bright Dreaming ghosts rest through the night Why art thou so right? ~~~ This Found Poem (Senryū) was inspired by Mother Combs Poe-Found June prompt challenge. The challenge asks for a 200-word poem. That’s too much of a challenge for me, so I created my own minimalist version. All the words I used in the Senryū can be found in The Sleeper by Edgar Allan Poe.
