How the Women of County Music Celebrate Anti-Valentine’s Day.
To say not everyone loves Valentine’s Day would be an understatement. For every person who believes in the power of Cupid and his arrow, there are two more who think Cupid is just a baby in a diaper brandishing a crossbow.

Roses are red. Violets are blue. I hope these songs are helpful for you.
We survived another dreaded day of Saint Valentine, we missed out on roses and fancy dinners, but we did score 50% off on Valentine’s chocolates. V-Day is unique because while some people are having the time of their lives, many feel isolated and hurt. Some ask what is wrong with themselves, while others are confident their ex was the problem. Love is complicated, beautiful and awful. It can bring happiness and heartache. Yet, we all take the risk of falling in love even if we know the pain that often follows. But regardless of why you are alone on Valentine’s Day, I have a playlist for your particular situation.

Love is Not a Rainbow
Love is not the rainbow, it is the storm. Love is the unknown chaos that brings us to the treasure on the other side. Love is a series of hurdles we must jump over on our way toward the finish line. Love is not the finish line. Love is not the prize to be won because you cannot win love any more than you can win your way into heaven. Love is also not heaven. Love is life, lived. When your life is explored, experienced, felt, tasted, and known to its fullest extent it becomes your personal heaven. That is love, the process of turning life into heaven.

A Playlist For Statehood Day
It's no secret that teenagers are typically very concerned with dating and romance - which makes Valentine's Day a rough time for lonely high schoolers. Fortunately, I grew up in Arizona, where Valentine's Day is not just a holiday about romantic love and coupledom. It's also Statehood Day!

Keep on Rockin
Oh boy, have I been waiting for something like this. I do not hate Valentine’s Day; I think it a great holiday to remind yourself why you put up with a foot in your face while sleeping. But some people do not have that foot in your face luxury. That is love. For Anti-Valentine, I believe the opposite is not being single because being single can be happiness as well. The opposite for me is overcoming grief, primarily from heartbreak.

Not Waiting for Prince Charming
Once upon a time, a girl waited for her prince charming to come along, but instead of reflecting on the fact he’d yet to find her, she focused on her independence. This girl thrived on making her own decisions while her married friends laughed and whined about not telling their husbands about their latest purchase. This girl simply smiled back at them and started to sing to herself, Cheap Thrills sang by the Bellas from Pitch Perfect. This girl didn’t need money to have fun, but at least she got to make the decisions for herself.

Love At First Listen. Top Story - February 2021.
Regardless of if you are recently single or have been livin’ the bachelorette/bachelor life for some time now, remember Valentine’s Day isn’t exclusively for couples. There is nothing wrong with being single and in 2021 we’re now releasing the shame and stigma that comes along with it! There is a humongous difference in being alone and being lonely. Therefore, “singles awareness day” (S.A.D.) should stand for “singles awe-inspiring day” instead! Let’s remember why we’re single and celebrate it. Grab the wine, call your girlfriends (optional but encouraged), and set the vibe with these tunes guaranteed to boost morale and ROCK your Valentine’s Day!
