A Shock for 4-H-N, Chapter Three
4-H-N was after him in an instant, so hotly as to incur a painful reminder about her ankle. Two parallel narrow pipes spanned a pit ahead, and Flashslip was taking tentative steps onto his, struggling. Funny how either at home or in another galaxy, girls were always better at this. Injured or not, knickers on or not, this event was 4-H-N’s. All ready to show off she started surely along the other pipe.

A Shock for 4-H-N, Chapter Two
4-H-N was watching with Professor Grindo from a vantage-point which commanded the whole of the assault course’s open-air span. The stands on either side were fast filling up with Mini-Flash membership, while Prof via his remote control made the last checks on a huge moving form far off in the distance towards the finish-line. The Kral-it-Gor Memorial Security Lodge, in its robot mode, swung and held satisfactorily through the motions of final guardian.

Brass Ring Chapter 11: When Bad Fights Happen to Good Stores
In the sauna back at CAPES headquarters, Oliver and Cass were enjoying the steam. “Having telekinesis means not having to move.” A dipper moved apparently of its own accord and splashed water on the rocks. As the steam went up the dipper went down.

4-H-N On The Trail, Chapter Three
4-H-N kicked out of her stand and scorched the supermarket tiles, as swirling turbid liquid swallowed potent particles and summarily swelled to a greyish-white mountain rising above the stacks. Yorkshire puddings had hit the quadrant in a big way, and from a retail perspective the only problem was the panic-buyers were racing for the emergency exit rather than the tills. Soggy vastness heaped itself over aisle-top after aisle-top, while the bloating batter encroached outward as well as up, squeezing every last breath of space from the avenues between. It was so like a nightmare that as 4-H-N Habitrailed ahead she began to think she’d fallen asleep in front of the telly again, watching either a Katsuhiro Otomo film or Delia Smith.

4-H-N On The Trail, Chapter Two
For some hours 4-H-N traipsed the lit streets, a female Mini-Flash conspicuous only for the small backpack she wore, which looked like it was slotted together from interlocking plates of metal. At length she found herself before the entryway of a vast supermarket concourse. Above the heads and other organs of life-forms proceeding inside, spotlights fanned the beginnings of space where bobbed several blimps bearing the outlet’s name.

4-H-N On The Trail, Chapter One
Every week when she wasn’t on duty, 4-H-N would go down to Prof’s lab and spend time with Robo-Petunia. That automated approximation of a pretty girl seemed to have somehow imprinted on her, perhaps because it was 4-H-N who’d dragged her out of the junkyard storeroom where she’d been stowed. Today they were sitting on the laboratory floor, pointing the soles of their feet at each other, and slowly rolling a yellow Flashball back and forth between them.

The Book of Petch
Petch couldn't peel his black eyes away from the sky. Kelgus was smoldering in some places and burning in others. Whatever had scorched it had also appeared to melt it rock in certain places. As far as Petch could remember of his youth studies, Kelgus was home to mostly flora and fauna. The Sorian Order had sent probes to the planet several times over the last fifty or sixty years as well as a couple landing missions, but the geographic study of the planet as well as the study of plant and animal life suggested that intelligent life such as primitive tribes or civilizations, didn't exist. As every species that lived in Olna now seemed to be on the city beach staring up, Petch's left wrist lit up which he touched with the first finger of his other hand. This generated a holoscreen with Jedro's face on it.
