Bad habits
A Short Strange Trip
I make eye contact with a mother pulling her daughter towards herself with a puzzled and somewhat shocked look on her face. I half smile and shrug as Luke and I sprint past her. There are many puzzled looks on the faces of the commuters on this Thursday morning in the very crowded Dulles International airport in Washington D.C..

Me in Abyss
I look at myself at times, but those time are as rare as they are uncomfortable. The sight in the mirror is not a frightening reflection, representing some skewed and obsessive view that I have of myself. Rather, it is simply uncomfortable for me to make eye contact with, well, me. I am not uncomfortable with eye contact, far be it actually, nor am I uncomfortable with the way I look. It is something else entirely.

107 Stitches
I found myself in a stark white room, itchy from the pilled fabric chair. Sitting next to me was man in a hospital gown, attempting to pick off and eat the chipped linoleum. I glanced down at my right thigh, embarrassed and disillusioned by the foot long bandage. This was rock bottom. I was committed to a mental health institution for a 72 hour suicide watch.

10 reasons why failing at suicide gave me a new lease on life.
10. Waking up/Morning routine. Who would have thought something as common as waking up every day would be cause for celebrating? It is. One thing I have been working on is being more mindful of the present moment especially upon waking up every day. Before my feet have even touched the floor I lay in bed and quietly visualize my day. I play out any and all scenarios in my mind all of which conclude positively and in the best benefit of all included. I finish up with some positive self talk about some of the things I'm grateful for. Then after waking up, brushing my teeth and drinking a couple glasses of water. I find a quiet spot in or outside where I can sit close my eyes and for the next 15 minutes I just sit and focus on my breathing. No thoughts, no worries, nothing but my breathing and silence. Blissful. My day has begun.

Procrastination
My problem Last year, when it all kicked off, everyone spent quite a bit of time talking about how they were filling their time. Being a caring and interested individual, I was heartened to hear how well some people were doing – lots of us, in fact, had used the time trapped indoors to develop their interests, and pick up new ones.

Don't Take Candy From Stranger
Most people who went to college will tell you that it was probably one of the most unforgettable times of their life. The frat parties, the tailgating before the big game on Saturdays, homecoming, and did I forget to mention the parties! We all can admit college is fun. But, sometimes those Y.O.L.A moments will leave you with memories that you can never forget. One moment that I can never forget is the time that I almost got robbed by a one night stand.

High School Boy Toy
This is a story about the first boy I slept with. I was quite young and pretty irrational. Never took time to think things through. In grade 11, I had grown fond of a student in my high school. We were in the same grade but didn’t have any classes together. I would see him after school in the gym where I played competitive badminton. He had some friends who were on the team, so he made the habit of hanging around and play with us once in a while.

Overdraft! OverBoard!
If I was a magician I would have saved all my powers and tricks for this day when i went overboard with the overdraft of my best friend bank account. I had just started a job with two rideshare companies as a delivery driver. In order for me to get paid I needed a traditional bank account and not a prepaid card. So my best friend who was my ride or die had a bank account that was just in hibernation. Not even having a second thought, I quickly asked him could I use his Navy Federal Bank account for my pay/ he said here is my account number and pin number, just make sure you keep it in a safe place. I said Thank you so much , I truly appreciate it. You are more than welcome Will, that’s what fiends are for right. Yes sir you are absolutely right. As I proceeded out the house to pick up my next order, the wheels in my head started turning. So I I started this 1 man conversation with myself saying i need some extra money so that I can turn up a lil bit this weekend, and I'm not going to get paid until next weekend. Umm, I wonder if he has that overdraft protection on his account. I’ll see if i can withdraw that and then i'll just pay it back once I get paid. I just have to find a way to put it back so that he wont find out.

I bought an iPhone 12 for £1 and now I’m broke
I must confess I’m not actually broke but I did suffer the consequences of my actions. My poverty mentality almost ‘killed’ me. I’ve been through it my whole life ‘Save money for the rainy days, take advantage of discounts and if there’s anything that costs less money… BUY IT!’ NO MATTER WHAT! This is a consequence of growing up poor and always being afraid of losing money. You want to get everything you can so in case you end up with nothing, you have a backup plan.

Temptation
The cold winter winds violently hits me in the face as I walk to my bus stop. It is the middle of January and my junior year of highschool, a lot of my friends are either seniors are out of school. I‘ve always hung around the older crowd, I just felt like they related to me better then my peers. I really hated school ever sense I was a kid but boy did I love the girls. Sense I could remember I always had this charm and it seemed to carry with me to highschool, from making out, car dates, and even hooking up. The girl I have been talking to for about six months now, Ari, it has been the longest relationship I‘ve ever been in.
