pregnancy
Growing your family, one baby bump at a time. All about the ups and downs of nature's 9 month miracle.
don't stress, it's not retention but just a child
26.02.2021 I was 21 years old. I had been holding back from menstruation for a few days and was just talking to my husband and his sister (jokingly) about the fact that I might be pregnant. I had a pregnancy test somewhere, just in case, and I decided to go to the bathroom to make sure no eye-catching surprises awaited me in the near future.

My niece Hailey
"I have a really good relationship with my sister" was not always a sentence that I could say honestly. It's true that most siblings fight like ornery rams at some point in their lives. However, my sister Ophelia and I took it to another level. Between my autistic mind set and my sister's bipolar condition, we were constantly at each other's throats more times than not. Sometimes what we had fought over was trivial at best. At least they are now. At the time the things we fought about seemed really important at the time. Then again, all squabbles between siblings usually are. However, the day my niece was born, our relationship had changed for the better.

How You Can Prepare for a Natural Birth as a First Time Mom
The image source is Pexels. Childbirth is one of the most challenging experiences women go through in their life. There are different ways of giving birth; natural birth or cesarean action. While caesarian action involves surgery to remove the fetus from the mother’s womb, natural birth is when the baby is delivered through the birth canal. Natural birth, although considered good, has several challenges. Therefore, you must be adequately prepared during your pregnancy period to have a successful natural childbirth.

Bali Birth
If you want to fall in love with the world, really fall in love with it, watch a birth. Better yet, move to a developing country, work as a fundraiser for a birth centre for poor families, have no experience of birth yourself, and then watch a baby born into water.

Recipe for disaster
Hello I am Kylie and boy have a been through a rollercoaster for the last five years. So it all began when I was active duty military! I joined in 2013 all excited for my super new career! Fast forward to January 2015, I’m single (going through divorce) living my best life with my friends and taking care of my son! So one night my guy friends call me up inviting me out to the club, exciting right? I should have said no anyways so I get all dolled up and head over to the barracks! I decided to stop by and grab a bottle of Crown for myself to pre-game. So I get in we all take a shot and I’m just sitting waiting for them to finish getting ready! So as I began talking some tall nerdy looking dude comes out the room and just kind of stares at me. I’m not attracted to him at all so I roll my eyes and finish my drink. He was my friends roommate! So he tells him hey man what are y’all up to? He’s like yea man we are just on the way to the club. Wanna come? I’m thinking heck no we don’t want him to come he’ll ruin the vibe! So he’s like oh yea of course! So he runs in the room get dressed with some Hawaiian looking shirt and starts playing the guitar OVER OUR LOUD MUSIC! Like seriously at this point I thought they were crazy for even inviting him he’s a lame! So we finally leave and I look in the back seat and see him with my entire bottle of crown downing it! At this point I regret going with them! So we get to the club he’s just standing there like a weirdo! So me and my other friend go out to the car to grab my jacket and we end up making out in the car and mr weirdo followed us to the car and was just standing there! AWKWARD! So I just roll my eyes and go back in and we left! We get back to the barracks I can’t wait to get away from this dude only to find out my friend (his roomie) has my car keys. He didn’t want me drinking and driving, unfortunately he fell asleep with my keys in his room which was locked so I ended up staying until I could get a ride home! Weirdo dude stayed up with me all night asking me about my life and telling me how his ex is pregnant and all this BS! So my ride comes he asks for my number and I’m like fine you stayed up with me it’s the least I can do! So he texts me asking me out multiple times before I said yes. Did I do it because he was desperate maybe but I also felt maybe he was genuinely a good guy WRONG! So our first date of course I had to drive he had no car! He tells me he’s 19 turning 20 with his birthday coming up! (This is important) We actually had a pretty good relationship until Valentine’s Day comes up! So he tells me his ex’s dad is calling me all type of racial slurs because I’m a home wrecker! Here’s the good stuff, so apparently they had been together the whole time he lied and at this point he had asked me to be his fiancé bought me a ring and all! He went out to see his baby be born and in the photos his ring is gone!! Why because his family wasn’t supposed to know about me EVER! So I go off he claims he took it off so he could hold the baby because of germs um what? So we break it off and I get rid of all his stuff from my house and rid of him! So months pass and we decide to try again why I DONT KNOW!! My entire family and friends warned me! Anyways we start talking serious moving in, getting married, having a baby all the works! We went apartment shopping together and I find out I’m pregnant the first time we started trying! This is when everything about him came out! I find out he was only 18 just turned 19, his family never knew I existed oh and the same time he wanted to make a family with me he was doing the same thing with another girl! So during Christmas time when I found out I was pregnant the girl he was seeing behind my back, he told her I was 9 months pregnant having the baby soon! WTFF I literally was only 6 weeks! So I message his parents and tell them everything!! They say he’s a known liar and this isn’t uncommon! He claims he’ll grow up and be the dad he needs to be! So he ends it with the girl (so I think) and he’s going with me to appointments and everything! So we come with names- Carter for a boy and Ava for a girl! We find out it’s a boy and I change it to something better he absolutely hates it! I have the baby he doesn’t show up for the birth and since my divorce wasn’t final my hubby is put on the birth certificate ugh! So he moves on and marries some chick and she tells me never to hit him up again until a dna test is done Um excuse me? So at this point she’s the one in charge of everything now! So we set up a time to meet only for them to last minute say I need to pay for the entire thing? Umm you helped me make this baby and cheated on me the entire time and I have to pay for it? I think not! So we said screw it and didn’t bother! So me and my husband cancel the divorce and we are happy and in love again! He’s a great dad to Dbag’s son and we filed with the courts in three different states trying to get my husband off the birth and so Dbag can take responsibility for his one and only son! It was a failure because getting a court ordered dna test was hard to obtain for some reason! Dbag himself was telling people we already had a dna test done and proved my husband was the father SAY WHAT? If he was why the heck would I still be going after you? Anyways after 5 years we finally got one done with my husband and of course was proven he’s not the father and they are finally taking his name off the birth certificate and can officially go after that POS! Oh and yes I know he’s the dad how? I did a dna test with his own daughter with my son that proved they are 99% half siblings! The crazy thing about it all his family wants nothing to do with my son until all the legal crap is done which is sad! Can y’all believe I’ve been chasing this dude since 2016 and he’s cautive duty y’all would think it wouldn’t be this hard!? Hard to believe but it’s all good because it’s almost over oh and his wife is in on the whole thing talking about it’s been proven and all that jazz! Anyways hope you enjoyed this story!

seventeen weeks
The grass is green and covered with dew. Early morning spring, still hushed, broken only by trilling song of birds and the lazy roll of wind through undressed branches, tips brightening to green from winter grey. It is here I contemplate you-- what little of you there is, and all of you there will be.

Where does the UK stand with Parental Leave?
From the moment parents start trying for a baby, to completing the hospital bag checklist before the mum-to-be goes into labour, both parents know that their lives are about to change forever. Of course, it’s natural to need time to adjust, not to mention some room to spend quality time with the wonderful new addition to the family. With that in mind, let's see how the current parental leave legislation in the UK compares to other countries.
