Why You Should "Go Local"
I recently visited a large farmers’ market 15 minutes from my home that I did not even know was there. I was in awe of the size. This place was larger than two major chain stores put together. When I visited the stalls, I found interesting items I had never seen before. Not only was I shopping, but I was learning as well. The farmers were more than happy to tell me about their goods and even share some recipe ideas with me. The variety was amazing: produce, spices, fish, eggs, meat all fresh, all at my fingertips. Everything was seasonal which meant it was not genetically modified and was not shipped from the other side of the world. There were no long lines and no crowds at all. This led me to wonder…do people even know this exists?

The Bone Broth Trend, Explained: Why I’ve Made Bone Broth a Pantry Staple. Top Story - September 2020. Created with: Kettle & Fire.
Broths and soups have been part of almost every culture’s culinary tradition throughout the ages; from Vietnamese Pho to Italian Brodo to American chicken noodle soup, a flavorful, meaty broth is at the base of many of the worlds’ most comforting dishes. Vibrational Cooking
A wise man once said that it is not what goes into the mouth of the man that defiles him, but what comes out. While this is true, what we eat certainly can have an effect on our vibrations and physical wellbeing. We are still currently in the third density, after all.

Healthy Eating and Enjoyment
Hello my Vocal friends! I hope you are having a good day so far. Since my transition to independent living in the summer of 2018, I started learning about nutrition and exploring unique and wholesome junk food replacements. I made a promise to myself that I was going to start looking after my health and wellbeing, but it was not going to be something I would fix overnight or in two weeks. As I have explained in one of my previous recipe blogs, I will relapse after trying to deprive myself of sugar for a day of two. In order for me to be consistent with my diet, I can’t have the "it's bad or it's good" mindset, but rather eat things in moderation and allowing myself to have the odd binge. The SlimFast diet is the most effective diet for me compared to the Ketogenic, Paleo, Vegan or Atkins diets. I want to enjoy all of my favourites while managing my sugar and carbohydrate intake.
