When Gen X was "Tubular" or "Rad" in the 80s
I am inspired to write about Gen X after reading a Vocal article about The Baby Boomers written by Joan Gershman. Generation X, also known as the "Me" Generation (born between 1965 to 1976) was not less "cool" than the Baby Boomers. Sure they had Elvis and The Beatles, but we had our own tough guys and the second British Invasion. The Baby Boomers were our parents. We knew they had been hippies. We knew they had either been on crazy drugs traveling in their bell bottoms or they were raising us to stay away from drugs and live life to the fullest being the best we could be. It was a tough act to follow, but we did our best.

The Collected: this is going to be one mouthful of a review. Let me preface this by saying K.R Alexander writes horror stories for mid-grade children; therefore, I can not judge too harshly. This book was also gifted to me by my best friend, who had seen the cover and knows I have a bizarre love for anything unsettling. So naturally, she thought of me, seeing a book cover with murderous dolls on the outside. I love that and wouldn’t trade it for the world. However, when I tell you this book was hard to read, it was. I felt like I was watching the movie Rubber or worse, 12/12/12. To all my horror movie buffs, you understand the severity of poor content.

Cycling back to the days of yore (before smartphones and Tick Tock) way back to the time when telephones were wired into walls and were usually located in the kitchen (we could call it the 1970s, or you could even go later on the timeline). Many of you might have to remember back to when you had that well-meaning friend who wanted to set your love life on the right track. Perhaps these friends had your happiness in mind, or perhaps they had read too much of Jane Austen's work.
