This year, the year 2026 of the Common Era, Valentine’s Day is right after Friday the 13th. It feels quite ironic, having the very day of love be preceded by a day traditionally associated with doom and gloom. Of course, the latter is largely based on Western superstition. Nonetheless, it does have a strange feel.

Cruel Paradise
Looking at the burning candle made me realise that everything fades away as it burns and becomes light for others. Though your names might stay behind. But at what cost? The cost of burning yourself? And still, if someone accidentally gets burned, all your struggles to light someone’s life would be in vain in their sight.

He asks, “What do you bring to the table?” To you as a wise citizen, I say you bring your experience. Not just for your job, but for these treacherous speeches. I don’t bring my feelings, I get even with his eloquence.
