Insomnia
Many people around the world suffer from insomnia daily. There are so many factors as to what causes this to happen to so many people. I know I'm personally one. Actually, the idea for this blog came from a late night of sitting up looking at the walls. I've tried taking sleeping medication and even making sure I do the normal things that will allow the body to relax. Things like a hot shower, soothing lotion, and relaxing with a good book. However, I find myself still wide awake with not an ounce of sleep in sight at 5 in the morning. I actually saw the sun rise this morning. I've grown tired of watching my husband sleep all night like a giant baby and I get up cleaning the kitchen or eating leftovers from dinner. I had to start finding ways to find sleep around the same time that he does or I knew it was going to be a long night.

It Matters
I've started this article many times, always deciding I don't have the words to do justice to the feelings, therefore erasing it from my computer and mind. The fact is, these things keep coming up and every time I'm reminded that it needs to be dealt with, it needs to be addressed. But, how do I explain all of the ways that my life was different and why it mattered. How does that matter for the people reading it? The fact is, it needs to be talked about because life is real, love is real, hurt is real. It matters, it effects your life and it can't be dismissed like it didn't shape your life.

It Is Cancer: Why Be Silent and Suffer?
What can I say? Being told I have cancer was a shock, but breast cancer was a kicker. All my live, I have complained about having breasts; the fact they got in my way when riding my horses or when I wanted to beat my brothers in a shooting or archery competition. But to have heard one of the specialists say, "You have confirmed breast cancer, we were lucky we found it by a mistake" (great find, I guess)... that was when my world changed.

Time
What is it that we do with our time? Time is the essence of life. Without time, there is no life, there is no universe, there is no purpose. We are all brought to this earth for a purpose. The universe gives us time to figure that out. The universe gives us until the day we call and say I'm ready Father, I surrender.

Hospice, What Is It?
So, losing a loved one sucks. A lot. I lost my father a little over a year ago, and my great grandmother the year before that, and her sister in between the two. The one thing they all had in common which I think it made it even more immensely difficult for me is that they were all in hospice. For those of you who are unfamiliar with it, hospice is essentially end of life care for those with terminal illnesses. Some people can be in hospice for months, but most of the time, it's a week or less.

Most of us are out working our 9-5 and not giving any thought on what we are doing to our bodies when we are working ourselves a lot, especially when we're always on the go and never really sitting down. Speak the Truth
We all are guilty of it. We tell blind lies to spare the present vibe, but that tiny spark, no matter how innocent, will only grow into a giant bolt of lightning. Any empathetic person like myself will always want to comfort others; we hate to see anyone in pain, but life is full of pain. It is not possible to shelter anyone from all the harsh negatives. We need to learn to grasp this pain and use it to our advantage, moving forward with more strength. Let go of the emotional reaction and skip straight to the empowerment.
