A Year Later
August 14, 2016, is a date that unfortunately I'll never forget. I was hopeful going into my sophomore year of college. I had met all of my freshman year goals and I was ready to conquer my new ones. I arrived on campus at the end of July for RA training. It was such an exciting time because I was stepping into a role of big responsibility. I also made a friend in training who later became one of the best friends I could ask for.

Keep Your Heart Light
More times than I count already in my short life I have experienced the burden that is life. Times when life simply is too much. It sits on your shoulders and makes you slouch. Your stomach is not only in knots but it feels as if you are trying to break down and digest magnificent boulders that have shrunk down to fit in your systems. Simple tasks are too hard to find the motivation and everyday menial repetitive tasks that are part of everyone's day to day are just too much effort.

I Came!!! I Saw!!! I Pondered!!!
I am a teacher, musician, writer, son, brother, uncle, friend and a few other things. My enemies may call me a nudge, a pain, a problem and perhaps many other things. By just looking at my titles so far, I have room for one more-dreamer. What are my qualifications?

Top Tips for Getting in Shape
Before reading this, you might want to ask yourself what exactly "being in shape" means for you. Is it simply to lose weight and fit into that stunning outfit you've been dying to show off, currently impossible due to the unflattering bulges around your belly? Is it to be healthy, to add years to your life and a daily beam on your face as you munch on superfoods and sip your smoothies? Is it to build muscle and use those glutes, biceps and abs to their greatest advantage?

The Day I Stopped Taking Pictures.
If you know me, you know I love taking pictures, more like being in the picture though. I remember at some point my sister had become my personal photographer, we had real photo shoot sessions till she grew a bit older and realized that she was actually NOT my slave(just so you know, she is the one that takes endless pictures now). Growing up, I would say I was pretty skinny until I hit puberty and as expected, my body started to change. It became fuller and with the kind of women in my family, it was inevitable that I was soon to inherit their curves, which the Rwandan culture happens to glorify. Which goes without saying that it is the norm for a Rwandan lady to be full-figured or curvaceous as some call it. I was the norm.

Why You Aren't Seeing Results
I mentioned that the law of attraction highlights putting out whatever you want to receive. This concept is a lot simpler than your ego self would like you to believe. Unfortunately, there is part of you that wants to stay wherever you are in life, even if it is making you unhappy, because you feel like it is the safest route. This mindset causes increased anxiety when you have to change. If you do not sacrifice & change for your own best interest, the universe will cause this change for you. Sometimes this change can even seem traumatic but it is always for the best. Now you’re probably thinking that can’t be true, but that’s just your ego self kicking in again. If you do not take the chance to change your life & you to continue to feed yourself negativity, then negativity will once again find you in your new environment. You have to change your mind to change your environment.

Are You Your Own Worst Enemy?
The Southeast Bully is the part of our inner self that acts as a bully to our own soul. This bully uses dependency, attachment, judgment, comparison, expectation, self-importance, and the wounded child we experienced when our image makers made us feel unworthy of love to manipulate us. These emotions can stop us from following our Sacred Dream and fulfilling the plans our soul made for us in this life.
