The Jogging is About to Begin!
Hello everyone! Welcome back to my fitness blog. I apologize for not keeping this as regular as I should. I have been very busy lately between work, exercise, and taking over on some social media coordinating for my boyfriend's YouTube channel. All very exciting stuff, but they shouldn't be an excuse to get lazy in writing. So without further ado, here are my current updates to my fitness.

Why Swimming is the Best Sport
Getting in is the hardest part, but when you start gliding through the water, it is a surreal experience. There's nothing to hear except the water sliding past your head, down to your neck, over your shoulders, down your waist, and over your legs. You are one with the water. Not breathing all the time is kind of a bummer, but it builds up your heart rate and keeps you active.

Train Your Mind to Love the Gym
Working out for me has always been a necessary evil. It takes a lot of effort for me to want to go. Don’t get me wrong, I love the feeling of being a strong female, and once I do get there and start working out the feeling of dislike disappears. I like gaining muscle, I like being lean, and for a long time (6 years) I was even training as a kickboxing fighter. Trust me, I love that stuff. But it’s just hard to keep me in the mindset that I have to be there. I need to take care of myself better so that I can be the badass that I’ve always been.

My First Fitness Blog!
My new fitness journey began in May. Before that, I had not really paid much attention to my exercise and eating habits. Not only was I in school and working part time, but my energy levels left me feeling drained after doing the simplest tasks. I could barely get through my homework without crashing, let alone go for a long walk after being on campus all day. And when I worked, it was even worse. As for my eating habits, I mostly just wasn't counting my calories and I allowed myself too many unhealthy options through out the week rather than limiting it to one day a week.

It seems there is a never-ending supply of advice when it comes to working out and losing weight. I am no better myself; I am obsessed with learning everything I can in regards to exercise regimes, breakthrough supplements, and weight-loss suggestions. Like all advice, you are bound to come across an article or two spewing information that is totally false. While we are usually able to sort through the bologna, sometimes our BS detectors fail us, leaving us to believe something we shouldn’t. For example, “Don’t run, it’s bad for your knees,” “Only do cardio to lose weight,” and the famous, “Lifting weights will only bulk you up.” While I can’t debunk all the myths, here are five strength training rumors that we have all heard, may have believed, but are completely untrue.
