Say "YES" to Life!
When I was a kid, I had a toy called a “Magic 8 Ball.” It was a toy from the 80’s, that when you shook it, an answer would appear, such as "yes," "no" or "maybe." You could use it to help you make decisions or to tell you what the future held. It is crazy to think, how early in life we start mistrusting our intuition. I use this merely as an example of ways we stop trusting our own instincts. Think about the last time you had to make a difficult decision. Was it very difficult to decide? Did you flip-flop a lot before making a final choice? My hunch, tells me - yes!

Just Be You
Growing up is hard and is usually the time when people start to hate themselves. I know I did. Bullies were a big problem for me as they tend to be for many people. Whether you're a kid in school or a adult out in the real world, bullies always seem to know how to hurt you. The things they say day after day start to feel like a poison eating away at you. Slowly you get more and more depressed and your brain tricks you into believing the things they say about you. Your self confidence starts to take a turn for the worse, and eventually you can't even look at your own reflection. You start to hate the color of your hair or the freckles on your face. You start to hate that your thighs touch and all the popular girls have thigh gaps. You start to hate your clothes because someone said they look cheap and trashy.

A Different Kind of Positive
My driving motivations and how I’m trying to change my life are much more complicated than I had originally expected. Right about the time that I quit smoking the thought was that I would simply attempt to look on the positive side of things and continue about my life. Soon thereafter, I found that neither one of those things was as simple as I made them out to be. I had to find something to do to take away my stress, where I once used smoking for that purpose. The withdrawals were actually not even the worst part, as I found out through the first few months of wanting a smoke every single day. Quitting cold turkey was the only way for me, but I found that wanting to smoke every day put me even more on edge than the stress that was building up for lack of an outlet.

From Darkness to Light
The darkness of depression has sullied the beauty of living for most of my life. It has stolen my breath and left me drowning in a dank dark world. I couldn't see the beauty of the sunrise, or the brilliant sparkle of the stars. I lived a daily struggle, always longing for the night when I could put the day to rest and sink into the oblivion of sleep.

Caving into PMDD Cravings
Often enough and sooner or later, on one of the PMDD forums, a woman will post about eating an entire bag of "insert brand name" snack food. I totally get it. I myself have posted about eating giant bars of chocolate, entire bags of chips, too many pastries, and frozen yogurt...all at the same time. When you feel miserable, and there's nothing you can do about it, and the cravings are there...well, the indulgence can feel nurturing. I've stopped judging myself for these episodes because there's no point in it. I'm otherwise incredibly healthy and eat a very healthy diet. I exercise regularly too. Once a month, if I have a hormonally-induced need to just go totally crazy, I do. And I'm not about to beat myself up over it.

7 Reasons It Is Healthy to Put Yourself First
It can be difficult, between work, family and friends, to find time for yourself. You may feel like a bad friend if you don't have time to grab lunch, or you might think you're a bad employee if you don't give work all of your attention, but that's far from the truth. If you take time for yourself, you'll be there better for others in the moments you give them.

How To Expose Your Stuck-Point and Get Unstuck
Having trouble finishing that inspired project you’re working on? You have a great idea. You sit down and start working on it. You are full of energy and motivation. And then this unsettled feeling creeps in and your motivation slips away. You become distracted. You can’t sit still. You check your email. You decide to wash the dishes.
