Inspirational and healthy ways to lose weight.
Exercise Challenge (Pt. 8)
Another week of exercise has come and gone and other than frequently suffering from shortness of breath, I feel great!! There have been a lot of illnesses going around my hometown and I am trying my best not to get sick. For me, eating right, exercising and making sure I get all of my vitamins is what it takes to keep illness at bay. With that said, here are the exercises I did this week.

The Motivation to Lose Weight
Although it hurts, running is one of the best things you can do for your body. An incredible cardiovascular activity can help you lose weight in addition to training several other muscles in your body. After all, you use almost your entire body when you run, so it is only logical that your legs and abdominal muscles receive some training as well. For example, I am trying to turn a six-pack into an eight-pack now, and one of the key exercises I’m doing is running; it helps burn the excess fat that covers the abdominal muscles.

Fixing Your Diet
Why is it that some people who down gallons if ice cream, boxes of pizza, cartons of fries, etc., are rail thin with a xylophone rib cage while other people who eat very little still pack on the pounds? Well, your physiology is not just determined by your behavior (what you eat and how you exercise), it is also determined by your genetics. There are over 400 genes that increase susceptibility to obesity. These genes may affect appetite, sense of hunger satiation, metabolism, food cravings, body-fat distribution, and the impulse to curb stress with eating. On a very simple level, your weight depends on the number of calories you consume, how many of those calories you store, and how many you burn up. Thus, your weight—and how easily you gain or lose it—is determined by intermingling factors of both behavior and genetics, both of which you must take into account when you are trying to lose weight. If weight loss is difficult for you, try to be kind to yourself. There is probably more going on than lack of willpower.

Exercise Challenge (Part 6)
When I began this journey, I did so with the hope that I would stick with it and not give up. So far, this is true. I have not yet set a starting weight loss goal, mostly because I never reach my goal. I always plateau and then give up. However, due to the nature of this challenge, I believe I can safely set a goal. I am going to start small and say I want to lose 15 pounds by my weigh in on June 3. When I weighed in on January 3, I weighed in at 300 pounds, according to the scales at the YMCA—or 317 pounds, according to my digital scales at home.

Texxx-Man Cosplay's Weight Loss Story
Greetings, Vocal readers. Happy New Year to everyone. This is my first article of 2019 and I hope that this year will bring joy and prosperity in your lives. I apologize for not posting an article sooner, but I'm back to put out great content and inspire others to do amazing things. I'm sure that most of you have some New Year's resolutions you want to achieve. For me, I don't like to call them resolutions, because nine times out of 10, most people won't stick to them. I call them New Year's goals, because there are some I want to accomplish. One of them is to lose weight and be in decent shape. I'm going to share with everyone my weight loss story and I hope by the time you finish reading this article, you'll be motivated to be active and live longer.

Exercise Challenge (Part 4)
So the next four days were filled with visits to the YMCA. I did a lot of walking and swimming. It does me so much good to get out there with my "sister" Monica. We have been best friends since the eighth grade, over half of our lives. We both have mental health diagnoses and the Winter months are the worst for us. So getting together twice a week for a trip the to Y is good for both of us. Not only does it get us out socializing, but it also helps us combat our depression. Add in the fitness aspect and we are on a roll, especially since we both have a desperate need to get fit! With that being said, here are the next four days...

Exercise Challenge
A few years ago I did a daily challenge to change the way I think about myself. I had the worst self esteem imaginable and I had to find a way to change that. My counselor was trying to help but I just didn't believe what he was saying. So, starting January 1 of the new year, I challenged myself to come up with one thing I like about myself, every day, for 365 days. It was definitely a challenge, but on Dec. 31, I made my final post (I was keeping track on documenting my challenge on Facebook). At the end of that year, I felt so much healthier and happier with myself! I had little to no bad thoughts about myself and felt so proud for it!!
