Finding Your Happy Place
I once did an exercise in my performing arts class. It was a small class, only about twenty people. We were instructed to lay down on our backs, on any part of the stage we could find—separate from one another. We had to close our eyes, breathe deep, and focus on our minds.

Routine
Every morning I have my alarm set for 5 AM. I wake up and have two pints of water before doing a 20-minute stretch routine followed by a breakfast of two eggs, scrambled, crispy kale, avocado, and toast. I'm then showered and out the house for a 7:05 train to work. Once my half-hour journey is over, I head to my favourite coffee shop for a black Americano and a read of my current book.

For just 15 minutes today I implore you to be an observer within your own mind. Sit back and take note of the way you naturally speak to and about yourself. I don't know about you, but when I used to hear the word “Ritual” I always envisioned something like an altar with a bunch of candles or some sort of sacrificial offering taking place. Thankfully, however, I could not have been more wrong about this! Maybe in the olden days rituals were tied to religious beliefs, but now a ritual is basically just something we do habitually that provides us comfort.

I Love Myself. Here's 5 Reasons Why.
1. I get out of bed every day and face the world. Every day I wake up and I drag myself out of my fluffy haven. As much as I want to curl up into the sheets and forget the world is out there, I get up. I push past that urge to just not exist for the day. Though I may already know that there are unpleasant moments and unwanted encounters awaiting me, I walk towards them knowing that this is what I have to do. I tell myself that I am doing it for me. I don't do it for my boss, or my friends, or anyone else. At the core of it, I get up for me. And I'm so proud of myself for doing that. Because this world is harsh, rapid and unforgiving. And it's hard to face it all the time. So I'm proud I can, and I'm proud I do.
