The 5 Lessons That Helped Me Learn to Love Who I Am
I have learned a few things in my 19 short years. By observing the people, I have surrounded myself with, I have learned more about who I am and who I want to be than I ever thought was possible. When I was younger, it’s obvious that I had less of a choice when it came to the people who influenced me, but never the less, they taught me just as much as the people that surround me now. I would like to share with you a few lessons that have had the biggest impact on the way I live my life now.

Create Success
Mother Teresa says, “God doesn’t require us to succeed, he only requires that you try...God has not called me to be successful. He called me to be faithful.” In my life, I always believed that effort outweighs performance, time will reflect all the work you put into something — it just won’t show right away, what matters is the integrity you put into it, the commitment.

Growth
I’ve been through a change as of late, in my mind, body, and soul. Over the past month or so I’ve seen a tremendous change in myself. I am comfortable in my own skin, I’m comfortable making decisions and doing things on my own. Before I felt as if I was just floating through life and now I’m really living, feeling every single moment.

To Be or Not to Be
“Ain’t nobody gonna piss on you!” were the words of a man by the name of Ryp (Roy) Riley. It means nothing other than, no matter what you do, as long as you keep being you no one will, harm, touch, or mess with who you are. Self-expression is a problem that teens and even adults struggle with. Whether from fear of friends' opinions, others' judgment, or simply not knowing where to start. The latter being a problem that must be solved.

False Reality
What is it I see? You know when you imagine yourself with someone or something? That's a false reality. When you doze off thinking of the opportunities you might get? False reality. When you go through something and try to press rewind — in life! False reality!

Fight for Your Moments
Life has been hard for me in the past few years. I lost my daughter and inherited my grandsons to raise. I was not ready financially for two small boys. I have been determined to stay afloat and not succumb to the ever-rising tide of my life's circumstances.

On Working Through an Emotional Time
The other night was full of tears and devoid of sleep. I’ll admit I did a little grumbling at the sun for its untimely arrival the next morning. Alas, I hopped (okay, stumbled) out of bed (couch.. same difference) and made myself a damn good bowl of banana ice cream, some hot coffee, and went about a productive day. I’m not going to go into logistics of the ongoings last night. This is a blog, not a self-counseling site… I’ll say this. I’m still hurting, bruises don’t mend overnight… but I refuse to let them cripple me. Here’s five tools I use to work through an emotional blow and get back on my own two feet.

Dreaming
In my life, I always had a thing for dreaming... I knew there was something bigger out there, waiting in the universe. Sure, dreams exist in big and small things. They live in everything. From our need to touch the sky as astronauts as a kid to our desire to look at Tumblr and Instagram pictures, it can’t help but to strike our imagination. We want the awe, the mystical, the whimsical and the beauty of it all. It exists in pop culture, in the schools, at work, at the mall, at the movie theatre, and everywhere you look. There is also something bigger, more intricate, more amazing, and more philosophical, something that makes us human. It’s our greatest nature as humans. Here, I’ll explain it to you and maybe you’ll understand why I’m so interested in it...

Trust the Process
I've always felt like such a late bloomer. Ever since I was a kid, I would observe my peers and my friends. I would see them excel at certain things I felt I was not able to easily get. I would see them getting those math problems, earning those awards, and nailing those grades. I would even see girls blooming into maturity, dating the cool guy, or just enjoying popularity. I realized I was definitely different and I learned at an early age to appreciate my individuality. Since "comparison is the thief of joy." I allowed myself to observe without envy. Also, my mother always made it clear that God gave me my own gifts and I would learn to appreciate them and utilize them as I got older and I believed her. This truth allowed me to start looking for my strengths early on so I could cultivate them.

An Everyday Struggle
Life is full of uncertainty. As hard as it is to admit being hurt so many times, I will say I’m still thankful for those people that have not given up on me, even though many things I have hidden away and done my best to not let them show based off of how I interact, treat, and love others.

A Guide to Manifesting Your Dreams
You have probably heard that to be successful you have to work really hard and have dedication and determination (which are well... kind of the same thing). And I'm here to tell you that that's total bullshit. If you know what you want, and most importantly know that you can have it, you will have it. It sounds cliche, but it really is as simple as that. Let me break it down for you:
