Negative Thoughts
Negativity is 100 percent inevitable in life. There is no way around it, only through it. You know what is inevitable to some extent? Our negative thoughts. Pick any negative memory or feeling you keep replaying and reminiscing over in your head. Now imagine them as concrete blocks or bricks that you are holding in your arms. It makes your arms sore, makes you tired and slow. It wears you out, and takes your energy for the day. That is what our negative thoughts do to us. Our negative thoughts are unwanted pests that our mind creates to slow us down and hinder us. Close your eyes and visualize putting your concrete blocks down, and walking away from them, not looking back. For me, I imagine the Crucifix and leaving my concrete blocks at the feet of Jesus on the Cross. It is in our best interest to let go of our negative thoughts, whether it be fear, or worry, or anything in-between. It is best for us to let go of the negativity in our thoughts, because it dictates our life. If we let negativity control our minds, it controls our life.

Do What You Love!
If I was given a dime every time someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew older, I am certain my collection would be around $100. I feel like I have heard the question 1000 times! From dreaming of sitting in the driver's seat of a big rig, to pretending I was counting down the final seconds of game seven of the NBA finals in my driveway, while putting up what I thought was the game winning shot, I believed that adulthood was going to be the fulfillment of all my dreams. I believed, without a doubt, that anything was possible. You grow old, and live life exactly how you imagined, doing what you love... at least that is what I believed at the time.

No Lack of Good Ideas
Since the dawning of this age of convenience and technology, the human race has been programmed to”play it safe.” We have been taught through the smack on our hand by parents, the failing mark on a school test, the firing of that first post college job, the awards given to those that put in the most effort, as well as those that don’t, the phrases, “just get a good job,” “just be happy,” ”just get through the week,” to go through life doing the right thing, not making mistakes, not failing, and you will overall “be fine.”

Confidence Is Beauty
When I was younger, I was always that one kid who always got picked on, who was always laughed at, and who always was the last choice. I wasn’t like the other girls in my school (skinny, pretty, or popular). I always tried my best to fit in with the others. I would try and act like them, like the same things, or even talk like them. I knew I was beginning to lose myself, but what could I do? I wanted to be noticed by them, or even be friends with them. Before I knew it, I was the class clown. Every day I would come home from school sad or in tears because someone insulted me. Soon, I didn’t really love myself. I would wish that I could turn back time and change everything, hoping that maybe the new me would be better. I began to degrade my own self. I would hide from pictures, not look in the mirror, or turn down even the most genuine nice comments from others. It got to the point where I decided to move schools. I moved somewhere I knew no one would follow me and where no one knew who I was (probably except two people). I gave myself a chance to reinvent myself.

What I Am
A lot of things have come into light with me. From work, to my writing, to finally waking myself up. It took a while to figure it out, but I was finally able to get some answers. I was freaking out about it for the past year or so, and I didn't know what to think of it. I just took it in stride. It's one of those things you want to deny, but then, you start to accept it. With that being said, here's what I have discovered about myself.

You Matter Too
I can't help but say I laughed at myself when I wrote out this title, and subtitle, but I felt like this might be something that needed to be touched on for those of us who feel like we don't have the time, the money, or feel like we aren't deserving. The truth is, we do have the time, and we are deserving. I didn't say the money, because sometimes that is just hard to come by, but not everything you do has to cost something.
