Courage!
COURAGE!!! Some people have it and most of us don't. What is courage? According to Wikipedia, "Courage (also called bravery or valour) is the choice and willingness to confront agony, pain, danger, uncertainty, or intimidation. Physical courage is bravery in the face of physical pain, hardship, death or threat of death, while moral courage is the ability to act rightly in the face of popular opposition, shame, scandal, discouragement, or personal loss. The classical virtue of fortitude (andreia, fortitudo) is also translated 'courage', but includes the aspects of perseverance and patience." That is the denotation and some connotation of the word COURAGE.

Focus on Creating the Best Version of YOU
Are you having the best day of your life? Probably not. But that’s doesn't mean that today doesn’t matter. Every day matters. Every day is another chance to turn your life around. Most people would say they’re not living their life to its full potential or even enjoying their life at all. You only have one life to live. If you’re not living for yourself, who are you living for?

How to Find Motivation When You Can't Find a Reason to
1 Set yourself alarms. Write down things that need doing around the house, plan the grocery shopping, bundle all your socks into pairs. Give yourself ten minutes to water your plants, fifteen to have breakfast, and twenty minutes each for the intermittent naps you’re going to need during the day. Organise your day as much as you possibly can, and try your hardest to get into a routine. Don’t rush yourself to do anything; if you need to lie awake in the morning and just think before you get up, that’s okay.

Open Hands
One of the most obvious life lessons I have had the (unfortunate) pleasure of learning over the past few years is the life is not in my control. As much as I can try and take control of things and try to steer situations, outcomes, even people in a direction that I feel they should go... I am reminded constantly that it is a futile waste of effort.

Love Yourself First
Being a single woman in the heart of New York City can be challenging, however, it can also be rewarding. Those who are going through something alone, whether it's a breakup, death, depression, or anything else imaginable, just know that YOU ARE NOT ALONE. New York is a big city and the internet has become a way of freedom for everyone to feel loved. Love the life you live and the rest will follow suit. Self-discovery takes time, dedication, and patience, but the self-satisfaction is life's biggest reward.

The Ocean
I come from a landlocked prairie town in Southern Alberta Canada. Not exactly Ocean inspired, actually quite the opposite. Oil, cows, and wheat. All how I started my life, knowing and loving. However, for some mystical reason, I knew The Ocean was inside of my heart, even though it scared the sh*t out of me.

Chris Rock and a Hard Place
Just last night, I watched the Chris Rock Netflix special. The usual commentary on race politics and gender relations filled the 60 minutes or so, but one allegory stuck with me beyond the notorious "black mirror" that we have become so accustomed to. As my unlit screen stared back at me, I couldn't help but dwell on Rock's reference to how relationships function much like bands. “Sometimes you’re singing lead, and sometimes you’re playing tambourine."

Life Without Living
"None of this matters, so do what you need to survive and keep moving." Just a simple tweet among the countless others filling my timeline. Yet, upon reading it—though it wasn't some grand moment filled with exploding realization and magical emotion—it was a quiet, relieving epiphany; like letting out a heavy sigh.

Let Yourself Be Loved
The act of loving yourself is an ongoing process. Sometimes, the world portrays it as this easy thing, that one day we will wake up and appreciate every piece of who we are. Too bad it doesn't work like that. The process involves a lot of hard work, for there will be days when hating on yourself is the easiest thing to do.
