How I crafted my life into a masterpiece
Standing in front of the mirror, I felt disappointed in myself. I zeroed in on my midsection, pulling at the fat I’d accumulated around my stomach. I was disgusted. Within the last few months throughout lockdown, I’d gained at least 10kgs. How did I let this get so out of control?

Success and the Black Book
“Are you kidding me?” Jason yelled as he slammed his tray of dishes onto the counter. It was one of those days where everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. He had fallen asleep and forgot to put his phone on the charger, thus he missed his alarm. Then the first bus drove right past him splashing muddy rainwater onto his work uniform. Now, he has dropped another glass cup that shattered upon impact and sent glass shards scattering across the floor of the kitchen he works in.

Achieving Greatness
My chest felt heavy. I was ready to leave. Every day felt the same as if I was stuck in a never-ending loop. What was I doing? Why me? Why did I have to live the same routine every single day? There was no other option, especially since I was in charge of my younger siblings.

The Treasure Within
The best gift I ever received was a notebook. It was my last day of school and I was awarded with perfect attendance and straight A’s. My parents were so damn proud but to be honest I was humiliated. I did not have many friends and spent most of my time in class alone. Teachers loved me because I followed the rules and never acted out. The other kids didn’t talk to me because I sat quietly and gave the impression I didn’t want to talk.
