With each dawn I rise, with breath to take,
A grace that no one can forsake.
The world unfolds, a canvas bright,
With family close, my heart alight.
Laughter spills, and tears may flow,
In every moment, love will grow.
Strong and weak, we all remain,
In joy and sorrow, joy again.
The pain, the joy, they intertwine,
Like stars that in the night align.
From mistakes, lessons brightly bloom,
Turning shadows into room.
In peace of mind, I stand so tall,
Emotions steady, through it all.
My health, my strength, my spirit free,
Grateful for the gift to be me.
So from my heart, in thanks, I give,
For every moment I’m allowed to live.
Alive, surrounded, whole and true,
A life of meaning, pure and new.

The good thing about living in modern times is that LGBTQ representation in media is increasing. Not just in niche and Independant media, either, but also in mainstream media. Books, movies, TV shows, comics... they're finally catching on that LGBTQ+ people form a significant part of their audience, and deserve to see themselves on screen and in fiction, not just as victims in documentaries and true crime shows.
