How to Overcome I’m Not Enough Mindset
We've all been there. What can you do to move forward? How can you overcome the obstacles that keep getting in your way? There are many ways to get over the "I'm not enough" mindset. Research shows that more than 70% of people are affected by imposter syndrome. Imposter Syndrome can be described as feeling like a fraud and doubting your abilities. This is a common feeling among high-achieving individuals, and it can be difficult to accept their achievements.

The Case for: Hand Sewing
Not to detract from the purpose and need for a sewing machine, but hand sewing is a quiet place of concentration that just cannot be found at the machine. Instead of frustration from bobbins and broken needles, there is just the work. Pure and simple and full of purpose.

HEALTH
"Hey, Fellow Vocalites; it's your buddy, Kent. How are you doing today...?" No; HOW are you doing today? ...You don't even owe me (or anyone else, for that matter) the most honest answer to that question in a given moment. It can be awkward enough to honestly pinpoint "how you're doing" (mentally, emotionally, spiritually, physically) in the nanoseconds between hearing the question until an answer is expected. I do, however, encourage you to take a moment and reflect on that answer for yourself.

It Might Not Be “Aesthetics,” But Medication Is Self Care Too
After about six years of convincing myself that it would be weak to take them, I found myself in the doctors office asking for medication. With my voice wavering, sweat gathering on my upper lip and eyes squinting under the bright florescent lights, I explained to a stranger that I was at the end of my rope.

The Reasons Why I Write
I suppose I should introduce myself to my current and future subscribers since my Matilda article did manage to catch a bit of attention. Many of you might resonate with what I will be saying in this article and some of you might not know of my experience. I realize that my disability, or my experiences with it, will also make me stand out from most of the people on this site. In the end, I do hope that you will be taking the time to read what I have to say regarding this subject.

I don’t have a mental issue
Myth about Mental Health: The moment we hear the word “Mental” we see an image of screeching wheelchairs on squeaky clean floors, nurses and ward-boys in white clothes pushing the wheelchairs and some administering medicine. And flashes of someone having a breakdown, being restrained by strong men.

Changing How you Live your Life can Make you Happier

Shattered
Today I bought a stack of tablets, ones I can make messy. I am completely obsessive with tablets that have carefully constructed tidy little categories, thought flows and charts. These I am going to make very messy, like this jumbled world inside me at the moment.

Life Coaching
For many years I felt a nudge, a prompt to get into life coaching. It was something my soul wanted to do but my ego...not so much. I have lived one interesting and unusual life. I knew I had tons of experience to share. The lessons learned have been invaluable but I was never sure of how I could bring my insights out on to the world stage in an effective manner. I definitely have a talent for public speaking but if I'm honest sometimes the energy I feel before an engagement feels wobbly. Like a newborn giraffe. All too often I felt that the energy it took to push through and pull off the event simply wasn't worth the reward. As someone with a background of panic disorder and generalized anxiety I think it's important that I share my story for other coaches and speakers who may struggle with their mental health. One of the things that make the life coaching arena so hard to navigate is that one of our greatest tools to employ and shift our personal trajectory as well as that of our clients is the vibration we maintain. Life coaching requires a level of emotional dexterity if you're going to be successful and lead people into their best lives.

These Boots Were Made for Learning
I bought the boots. Yes, THOSE boots. The ones I saw on all of the impossibly thin, impossibly elegant women I passed on my way to work every day. THE fall boots of the Upper East Side. The boots of the woman I imagined I wanted to be. Glossy, yet understated. Subtle. Nothing like the supposedly “rich” ladies out in the suburbs, covered in logos and purchased at thirty percent off at an outlet store. No, these boots were refined, the kind of boots you wore on an autumn excursion to the family lake house.

A Small Victory
I still wonder how anyone gets through their adolescence. I had heard statistics as a young man about the suicide rate among us, and also knew about all the dangers out there that would eventually claim many in my circle of friendships and family (death, jail, drugs, disappearance, etc.)
