controversies
It seems every time one racially-charged incident ends, a gender or religious controversy takes its place; Ruminate on the issues dividing our nation and world.
Equal Pay? What's Equal Pay?
September, in my opinion, has been one of the most depressing months of the year to date. In a year where we have lost some of the greatest influencers in music, film, and British comedy we have had new twists in Brexit, but also witnessed Donald Trump continue to make a mockery of women’s rights. One step forward for the powerful business man, and ten mighty steps back for humanity. Whilst the world has become caught up in the Trump’s never ending ‘fake news’ media storm, over in the UK, it was Mums equal pay day.

White Pride and Nationalism
I’m not exactly sure where these ideas come from. Essentially being born white or in a certain country is nothing more than a genetic lottery. Your parents created you wherever they were at the time. While there is nothing wrong with being proud of who you are and where you are from, many people take it to the extreme. I will examine these people in this article.

When Will Hate Speech No Longer be Considered Part of Free Speech?
So we think about the first amendment, the right to free speech. This gives us the power to say that we don’t like a politician, or a certain policy. It gives us the right to disagree with each other on certain things. It enables us to be part of the religion we choose, it gives us the right to assemble to protest things we don’t think are right in our government, and allows us to petition said government. It also allows free press. But how far does this actually go?

How Other Countries Do Healthcare
You have to wonder why the United States doesn’t do free healthcare for all, how much they wring and gnash their hands at the prospect of universal healthcare. This idea is outright offensive to capitalist pigs in charge of our country right now. In Spain, according to NPR interviews, “most taxpayers don’t mind paying for it.” America is backwards. Why on earth does it not want to pay for healthcare? Yes we are capitalist, yes we want the best money can buy, and other money clichés. In Spain, the option of privately run clinics exists but you have to pay more for this type of care over the public health care system.

Differences Between Floods in Rich and Floods in Poor Countries
California, USA In the year 2017, from January 7 until February 22, a vast amount of rainfall precipitated in the state of California, causing the death of five people. Probably, if this vast amount of rainfall had precipitated after a gradual amount of rain, there would have not been floods. California had just recovered from its worst drought, and California’s grounds were not capable of soaking any water. These series of floods cost the property damage a value of more than $1.5 billion in property damage.

The Right to Adequate Healthcare
How many people have inadequate care? I mean, some are tied down to living paycheck-to-paycheck, but nobody wants to talk about that in polite company. Wages in the United States are stagnant right now, which might get worse. Healthcare is supposed to be a human right, but I know arch-Republicans don’t want people to have healthcare. They, in fact, want people to die. The higher elite keeps them as their lackeys. They like pushing us humans around. The Presidency is a puppet. To them, it’s a joke, no matter who is in the White House as a cover for their actions.

Dear Mr. Kaepernick
Dear Mr. Kaepernick, It has come to my attention that you have signed on with Nike to do an ad campaign for them. Mostly because my Facebook is lit up with dozens of my friends and family freaking out; making drastic changes to their gym styles and posting beautiful, heart-rending posts concerning the loved ones they have lost to war on your behalf.

Reason First: Worst Ways That Kaepernick Has Shamed America
Nike can do whatever it wants to do within the confines of the law. The multi-billion-dollar corporation has every right to choose what athletes represent its brand. It may be recovering from its #MeToo damage control and is trying to put all of that behind it. It is permitted to sell sneakers, apparel, and other products. It is even allowed to put the face of a loser on its thirtieth year celebration of its famous “Just Do It” campaign. Loser is the only way to describe NFL free agent Colin Kaepernick. Along with the evil message, “believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything.” The image of Kaepernick is disgusting. Sacrifice is a vice, to begin with here. His disregard for law enforcement matched with his lack of respect for the American flag and what it represents are terrible reminders of just how undignified and ignominious this football player is.
