For many staying within the country for longer notice the racism and xenophobia, especially in housing and employment. Most is towards other Black Africans. Yet many Asian and Lebanese are victims and this leads them to stay away from Ghanians.

It’s occasionally about fun times/ That’s why I absorb the moment, I’m not that much of a dumb guy/ Not even this one time/ If it’s Christmas Eve or the day or more before and I don’t go to NYC, I don’t feel at ease/ Forgot to mention that upon getting to New York, we went to Jollibee/ Ate the bucket of chicken, fries and spaghetti/ I’m holding it down for you pop, in your absence/ Doing everything you did when you were alive, I have your essence/ It sticks me like a magnet/ And when it comes to your death, I still want some answers/ Started out raining when we were on our way/ To go to the NY, it first seemed it wasn’t ok/ It was bleek in the beginning/ Then it had a beautiful ending/ I was glad I made us go/ God definitely came to aid us, though/ I was content no doubt I made wifey say yes, fuck no/ The weather couldn’t stop us, what do you take us for?/ It was challenging/ But things started balancing/ These New York streets are the illness/ Riding around in Uber and Lyft/ Dad sacrificed for me, now I gotta do the same for my kids, so they future is lit/ All bundled up, wearing two socks on each foot, look it was super brick/ Had my pajamas under my sweatpants/ Was up in Marshalls/ T.J.
