The Smoking Room

There is another smashing and funny comedic sitcom that I found from the British Broadcasting corporation called "The Smoking Room". The plot and premise of the show is very simple it centers around a couple of employees of a company that does something which is never said what. All of the employees are hilarious and it takes a genius writer to capture the hilarity of things and situations that happen in the break room or the smoking room in this case. It only lasted for no more than 2 or 3 seasons and it was too smart for it's own good.

The Smoking Room is a lot better than The Office. The Smoking Room has an ecclectic collection of characters of all types who contribute to the company in the show, which is never exactly said what the company makes or does but the employees who like to smoke and sit in the smoking room. And like I said before in this article, just a genius premise to take all the comedic happenings that go on in the smoking room or any smoking room in any company across the world and put it into a tv show. My hat is off and I applaud everybody involved in this show because The Smoking Room is one of my favourite shows having worked in a regular job before. It took me back to sitting in the employee break room and with all these and for some reason, though i don't smoke I liked to hang outside with the smokers, and that's neither here nor there but it took me back.

I tell you something else Britain is known for dry humor and this show delivers on British humour and you know that it also takes place in Britain somewhere in England maybe London, it is just a really good show that doesn't have to try too hard. It is just a great show!

I like shows that don't beg you to like it, you just like it because they grab you the right way, and the smoking room is no exception that fits the role and that is that. Some of my favourite characters in the show are these two ladies that sit on the couch together and they are friends. The gruff veteran security guard, the office brown noser, the burn out janitor guy, and not only that all of their interactions with the higher ups and they and those in the smoking room bust each others balls and you know it is a great show.

Outside of all that, they became a real family even though they didn't push that , but I just wanted to throw that in there. I love when I'm looking for shows from Britain I like to look for something that other people haven't. I believe The Smoking room is just waiting to come unto American shores and take over. The way that the office did, The Smoking room is a fuck of a lot better than The Office. I love shows that take place in workplace settings.
