Movie Review: 'Downeast'
Downeast is a rarity in this modern movie world. It’s a tiny, independent, gritty crime thriller that doesn’t feel as if it is recycling every crime movie cliche. Sure, the characters and the situation are familiar but the setting is new and the characters are authentic and charismatic. Written and directed by Joe Raffa, Downeast is a smart crime drama pitched at a perfect moderate pace that allows the characters to breathe and lets the story to settle into a lovely rise and fall.

Review; Holy Hell
Unfiltered reaction I listened to an episode of one of my favorite podcasts, Sinisterhood, about the the Bhuddafield Cult. Their reference material was a documentary titled Holy Hell. I had never heard of the Bhuddafield, and I am very intrigued by cults so I thought I would give it a try. The documentary starts off disorienting and confusing with a seagull, and weird people seemingly meditating. The images introduction of Will Allen, is gentle and you might get the impression that you are about to watch the story of a Catholic coming to terms with his sexuality through getting his film degree. I am a little confused because I mostly understand thats not what this is about, its an interesting choice of opening.

Lifetime Movie: "Girl in the Basement"
Sometimes you watch a sad story on television or in the movies and you hope it is entirely fictional. When the story is so horrific, you hope it is not based on a real-life story. Girl in the Basement on Lifetime is inspired by actual events that make viewers cringe. It is being aired as part of Lifetime's Ripped from the Headlines feature films.

The Adventures Of Leather. My Favorite Thing In The World Took A Walk Around The Globe Without Me.
With the anticipated release of Tom Cruise's new Top Gun, Maverick, I the original movie fondly. The times were much simpler and the movie really made Val Kilmer and Tom Cruise into household names. The music from the movie became popular and Take My Breathe Away was on every mixed tape a teenage boy made a girl.

Jagged Edge - A Movie Review
We’re going to go over this case again and again until we find the suspect. Jagged Edge was released to theaters in 1985. Framed for the murder of his wife, Jack Forrester is put on a murder trial. Finding someone to represent him in court is not easy. When Teddy Barnes steps in, a love story forms instead of inspecting the case.

Ugly Intricacy
Gangsters and thugs wearing state-issued khakis or brand-name clothes. How about organized crime families, not with a Godfather calling shots but a Beast at the top of the food chain. Prison shankings on the cell block to gun battles in the city streets. Plots and schemes, blood and death, a life- or death-sentence of drama. If you like that, you probably have a twisted mentality hidden beneath the surface of a civilized person. Well, maybe not so much if you’re just living vicariously through the screen of your television. Then again, perhaps you’re a little bit bent in the psyche. As are us all!

The Devil All The Way Review
What’s so unique about The Devil All The Way is how unapologetically filthy it is. I don’t mean it’s written in poor taste, it looks ugly, or it relishes in gratuitous violence or sex, I mean the morals of its characters, all its characters, are completely skewed…and that’s what makes it so genius.
