Have You Figured It Out Yet?
Aargh! What's wrong with me? Why can't I be like the rabbit that keeps going 'til I reach MY happy place? Wait! What? You too? I do well for a week with exercising, and then BOOM! Plantar Fasciitis! No problem! Google floor exercises! But, this is not how I pictured it!

Unexplained Infertility…. Now What?
New patients often ask me if Acupuncture can help with a diagnosis of “unexplained infertility." My answer is yes, because Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) diagnosis relies on the state of the body's health and balance, reflected in the pulse and tongue. I explain that Western medicine looks at health as a series of snapshots in a photo album, still frames that share a story line, while TCM is more like watching a moving picture, including the conversation in between the frames.

I Wore Skimpy Outfits To Break Free of My Body Image Issues
Since I was a kid I’ve had body image issues concerning my weight. When I was just six-years-old, my grandmother criticized my chubbiness. When I got to junior high, the girls in school — the popular ones, at least — were always extremely skinny and I wasn’t. Sometimes they would even go out of their way to make me feel insecure.

Come Smile With Me - Episode 4
My homecoming is a cauldron of emotions. I am happy, sad, tearful, frightened, worried, and excited all at the same time. The butterflies in my stomach have decided to escape through my throat, and my heart thinks that I have just completed a three-minute mile. I am gently lifted from the ambulance by stretcher and carried carefully into our living room. Mum has set my bed by the window and I can see into our garden. The view is wonderful, the smell is home, and I am exceedingly happy.

54 and Not Afraid to Take Off My Shirt
Let me just say, I love being 54! The old adage is "you're only as old as you feel." That goes for physically as well as mentally. It's great to have a youthful mindset, however, if you're out of shape and overweight, you're missing out on all of the great opportunities your mind has planned for you. Let's be honest, missing out on memorable experiences because of something you have the power to change would just suck.

Body Shaming
"Body Image" is the way that someone perceives their body and assumes that others may perceive them. This image can also be affected by family, friends, social pressure, and the media. People who are unhappy with their bodies are often unhappy because they don't seek healthy nutrition information, and may, therefore, develop lots of different eating disorders. "Eating disorders" are unhealthy relationships with food that may include fasting, constant dieting, or binging and purging.
