Touring Antarctica
If you’re like me you might not believe it, because I prefer tropical warmth to the cold, but Antarctica has become one of the world’s current popular tourist destinations. There are now over 34,000 people who travel to this icy cold land. However, you must be aware of the fact that all of the activity there is heavily regulated by the Antarctica Treaty in order to protect the environment. All of the tourism going on is mostly managed by the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators or IAATO.

The cuisine of the city of Philadelphia in the US state of Pennsylvania developed through history, the arrival of immigrants and what ingredients were available. In the days gone by, city taverns were the main meeting places for politicians and businessmen in the 18th century, and two Philadelphia landmarks were created in the 19th century. They were the Reading Terminal Market and Italian market.

Food and Drink in the Czech Republic
The Czech Republic or Czechia is a landlocked country in Central Europe. Its neighbors are Austria, Germany, Poland, and Slovakia. Czech cuisine has been influenced by Austrian and Hungarian cuisines. The national cuisine is based on ingredients that can be grown domestically such as cereals, leguminous plants, and potatoes. These are usually served with pork, beef, or poultry, and in some places, with freshwater fish.

One Old Hollywood star that has greatly impressed me is Greta Garbo, and she is known for her famous line “I want to be alone” when she left Hollywood for good. She was a beautiful Swedish actress with a sexy, husky voice. Her Hollywood debut came in the film The Torrent in 1926.

'The Good, The Bad and The Ugly'
Western movie fans will recognize this title, and will also remember the popular actor who starred in the movie: Clint Eastwood. However, his claim to fame didn’t come with this movie. It came from his role as San Francisco Police Inspector “Dirty” Harry Callahan. Clint Eastwood was born in San Francisco, California on May 21, 1930, and is not only a famous actor, but also an Oscar-winning filmmaker.

Frank Capra All through the ages Hollywood has been gifted with many directors who have been able to create Hollywood magic for many people sitting in dark movie theaters. One of these memorable directors was Frank Capra, who died on September 3, 1991, at the age of 94. He was a leading director in the 1930s and 1940s and made many memorable movies like the popular Christmas classic It’s a Wonderful Life. Other classic movies included You Can’t Take It With You and Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.

The Many Talents of Bob Hope
Bob Hope was among my favorite actors and performers. He was never what you could call a handsome movie star, but he was very likable. I enjoyed watching him in the movies and on TV, and his smile was always infectious. On May 29, 2003 this wonderful personality celebrated his 100th birthday. There were about 35 US states which declared this to be Bob Hope Day.

George Harrison
George Harrison became popular as one of The Beatles. He was an English musician, a singer, and a songwriter. During his time with The Beatles, he composed some of their compositions, such as, “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” “Here Comes the Sun,” and “Something.” In 196, he was very much into folk rock and Indian classical music. He played the sitar in The Beatles' song, “Norwegian Wood (This Bird Had Flown)."

Cher, the Goddess of Pop
Cher, who was born Cherilyn Sarkisian, is an American singer and actress. She began her singing career with her husband Sonny Bono. They were a popular singing duo in the 1960s. Among their most famous songs is a duo was “I Got You Babe.” Cher got to try out some acting when she and Sonny Bono had their own TV show The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour from 1971 to 1974. Together with Bono they have a number one hit “All I Ever Need is You.”

With a talent like Roy Orbison, you can only write the facts because what he contributed to the world of rock and roll would take practically forever to put down on paper. Besides I want you to know about his great singing and the songs which would pull at your heartstrings. Roy Orbison got the nickname the Big O, and was a very popular American singer and songwriter. He had a powerful kind of voice, and sang sad, heartfelt, and very emotional ballads. When he first started singing it was at high school in a country and western band.
