The Art of Releasing Expectation
How many times have we gone into a situation with an expectation, only to discover how very wrong we were? Walking into a job that you expect to be straight forward, and discovering it is very convoluted. Walking into a date with the expectation that it will go well, only to have it tank horribly. Expecting your sports team to win, your tax return to be high, and life in general to be something comprehensible. We have all heard the pessimist's argument, "I expect the worst, so when it doesn't happen I am pleasantly surprised. I don't think this is the right approach either. I want to explore what I mean when I say "expect nothing" and how this approach has helped me in my personal, and professional life.

7 Self Care Tips for a Happier Life
For some reason, discussing mental health has always had a negative stigma. Whether it be talking about the “ugly” sides of mental health like anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, etc., or even discussing taking regular “me time” to heal and recharge your mind, people oftentimes bunch mental illnesses together and don’t understand that most people try to not be defined by their mental illness or their symptoms. On that same note, a lot of people think “me time” is selfish. I disagree fully. I think everybody needs time to themselves away from their kids and even away from their spouse if need be, to simply remember who they are!

Give Me a Break Already!
It is very important to understand where you are in life. Self-awareness is what I like to call it, which is when you take a step back to reflect, review and realize what is going on in your life mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically. At the end of the day, those four things are the most important aspects of your life. You might not think so, but when those four things are in order and you are generally happy with everything and everyone around you, there is nothing you can do and success will come. You must have patience, though, because it's not an overnight solution.

Recently, I was watching a video and the narrator of the video was talking about her journey to finding herself and discovering her happiness. She said, "How could I expect anyone to love being with me when I didn't even love being with me. I needed to learn who I was, not as mommy or wife, but as myself." Every Day Struggle to Be Bigger
Right, I am sitting in this beautiful Barcelonian bar sipping a gorgeous glass of red with this chocolate hint in it (note: I can't afford this glass nor the second one—and I am actually drinking second #justsaying, as I am unemployed and should be thinking of the fucking eggs for tomorrow's breakie god damn it). Nonetheless, fuck it. I will go jogging tomorrow morning instead. Years ago I was dreaming of "this" moment, not to be unemployed nor not being able to buy myself a glass of red a week before my birthday especially, but to be evolving and becoming someone who will not settle for boredom and be subjected to the fear of living the life.

You Aren’t Alone
The first question you should always ask yourself. Do you love yourself? Why? You may ask. I’ve been told once “how can you love someone when you don’t love yourself?”—as for me I felt insulted at first but never really took what was said to me seriously. It actually hurt to hear that from someone I loved. Yet, loving them more than I loved myself at the time is where one of my battles surfaced.
