Here and Now
Our brain is essentially the central processor of a system that works in wondrous ways that most of us have no comprehension of at all. Symbolically, we are not that different to a computer and our brain is the CPU that ensures the efficiency of the entire unit. I once despaired at what a mess my computer had become with files seemingly laying around everywhere and suddenly saw that my mind was being ‘uncared for’ the same way. It was a defining moment in my life and as I cleaned up my computer, I looked at how I could clean my life and mind up too. I remembered a wise man from my youth who had stated that he could judge the type of person someone was by the state of their room and I had thought he was simply being judgmental, but I now saw what he was really saying and I saw the truth of his words. Everything is symbolic of something after all and as I worked on tidying my laptop, I saw his wisdom coming to life upon my screen.

Turn Your Life Around With the Alexander Technique
Frederick Alexander came up with the Alexander Technique in the 1890s when he found that a loss of voice during public speeches was bothering him quite a bit. When he got down to the root of it, he discovered that the underlying lack of confidence was brought upon by dissonance between his vocal cords, his mouth, and his lungs. They weren't functioning as one.

How to Avoid Cubicle Obesity
It was a brisk Monday morning as I woke up around 7:45 AMto get ready for my normal 30-minute commute to work. I had gotten dressed, put on my makeup, brushed my hair, and headed out the door into my convertible Volkswagen. Everything seemed fine and normal until I walked through the building into the lobby and onward through to the other side of the building. I could start to feel my face getting flush and heard myself huffing and puffing all the way to my cubicle.

Mosaic
Shattered Glass Chapter 1 - Part 1 Laughter bursted from the car as the van pulled up onto the driveway. The door slid opened and four children jumped out, eager to burn off their pent up energy. After an hour long car ride through fields and farm towns, it was long overdue. Two of the younger ones headed toward the side of the housing to play in the backyard. Galavanting down the mulch path, they left Megan, their older sister, to carry all of her camp things into the house herself.

Birth control. A lot of women are on some form of birth control and after having a baby it is heavily pushed on you to get back on it as soon as possible. Of course, your body has just been through hell and who in their right mind would want to get pregnant again right away? If youdo or have, more power to you. But for me, that wasn’t in the cards and still isn’t. I’ve been on birth control before, back when I lived in the States. The name escapes me, but it was a 3-month pill set with a placebo week. I didn’t take it to avoid pregnancy because I was in a long distance relationship, it was because of the crippling migraines I was starting to get every month. Went off it, then went back on it so I could avoid my period during my wedding and finished the course and that was that.

Summer Glow Up
When we think of summer, we think about sunny weather, swimming, and for some of us a vacation. We think about tanning on the beach, while drinking a pina colada. For some of us though, summer is just a reminder that you don't fit into bikinis like all the other girls. For some of us, it's a time of sweating to death from the long pants and shirts.

I'm Tired
Not a whole lot of people can understand when you say, "I'm tired," what you really mean is you’re exhausted. You are too tired to stand for one more minute, your arms are too tired to hold a book up, and all you can do is stare at something because you're too tired to lie down. They won't understand that walking from the car to the house wears you out to the point you need to take a breather. Even though it seems like you barely did anything, you need to sit down on the couch and regain your strength. And most of all they don't understand when you say, "I'm tired," you mean tired of pretending to be okay to make other people feel more comfortable around you and tired of not having anyone understand what you’re going through.

Living With Scars
I have an easier time trusting someone who has scars than someone who has unblemished skin. I'm not sure what it is, but scars tell the stories of where you've been in life. And if you've gone through life unscathed then it is likely we won't have a great deal in common.
